Each print has been made by hand using the traditional cyanotype process from 1842. It is printed on high quality 300 gsm Hahnemühle Platinum Rag paper which is made from 100% cotton and is acid free. The print can be supplied either mounted in a 24 x 30 cm gallery quality passepartout or ready to hang in a high quality wood frame. Open the images in Etsy so see the options. Cyanotype prints are made on paper that has been coated with a light sensitive mixture of potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate. The prints are then exposed through a film negative either to the sun or to an ultraviolet light source. No two cyanotypes are the same, even when created using the same negative. As the coating is done by hand it is inevitable that some artefacts and brush strokes will be visible in the finished print. This makes each cyanotype unique and adds to the charm of this historic photographic process. Unless otherwise stated, all of the prints offered on this site have the following specifications: |
