Used Cars
Nothing lasts forever. These masterpieces of mass production, once prized posessions, now lie abandoned, rusting and decaying, slowly but surely returning to the earth.
Emerald Summer Camp
Deep in the forest next to the cooling ponds of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor complex in Ukraine, the Emerald Summer Camp was a favorite place for the young soviet pioneers of the early 1980’s. These photographs were taken in April 2017. Unfortunately, all of the buildings in the camp were destroyed by forest fires in April 2020. |
Chernobyl Exclusion Zone
After the incident at the power plant in April 1986 the city of Pripyat and dozens of towns and villages in the vicinity of the nuclear power plant were evacuated. These photographs were taken between 2017 and 2019 and show the achingly picturesque decay of the towns, villages and buildings that had to be abandoned.
Malta
My favourite place in the whole world. Malta has changed considerably over recent decades. Here are a few photographs to remind us of a time that will never come back.
The ghosts of Malta’s route buses
In 2011 Malta’s fleet of ancient buses were taken off the streets and replaced by shiny new ones, much more comfortable and fuel efficient but lacking the character of their predecessors. Many of the old buses were put into storage before being sold to museums and collectors.
